Elmis Chiu

提問: Dear Elmis, I am trying to find my dream gown and wanna get pointers from you. I am about 5 feet tall. Not too fat, but have 水桶腰. 小腿 are a bit bulky. I really like to strapless and chapel gown. Will I look shorter with the long tail at the back? I really appreciate your help. Thanks. Sincerely, Irene

回應: I don\'t suggest hiding your waist as the more you try to hide it the more it shows. I would recommend a fitted bodice with full boning structure. The boning would have the effect of a corset and help shaping your body. Furthermore you can try adding accessories such as a bow, sash or a belt to accentuate the waistline. In respect of skirt, ball gowns may overwhelm your petite figure. A-line, modified A-line or modified mermaid skirt would have a more slimming look and thus make you look taller. A chapel train should work for your height, especially with high heels. And yes I think the train of the gown should be proportional to the bride\'s height. I therefore would not recommend a very long train for you. If necessary, you may consider having a slightly longer veil for the effect.
